  • Roots ConnectED offers three different coaching types to educators. Explore our coaching models below, and choose the model that best fits your needs.

  • It is important to us that we develop collaborations and partnerships based on a strong foundation and shared understanding of the conditions necessary to begin working together. If these resonate with you, we would love to connect and start a conversation about bringing our catered Coaching approach to your community.

    We believe:

    • in the long process rather than quick fixes to create systemic change.

    • that the role of personal transformation is critical to the work of collective (organizational practices and/or curriculum) transformation.

    • in reconstructing the ways in which the 4-I’s of oppression manifest in school systems and culture.

    • we must value the inherent capacity of each human being and the value of each and every child.

  • Our educational coaching gives schools and districts deeper support and strategic planning around practices of anti-bias education and inclusion. When coaching with us, you can expect us:

    • To design to your needs: beginning with the Coaching Intake Form for Model 1 and intake conversations for Models 2 and 3, to learn more about each other and gain an understanding of your community and its needs, to continue with a tailored Scope of Work, consultation is at the foundation of our partnership.

    • To work as partners in creating anti-bias educational communities: we believe our most important work is the work done through partnership with school sites, districts, networks and educational organizations.

    • To honor the three important stakeholders: staff, students, and families. Our coaching takes a holistic approach to the entire school community, and is designed to understand each school community deeply. Regardless of where we start with your community, we consider these stakeholders in

    • To develop capacity from within: through a strong collaboration we will develop your school site’s capabilities from the inside out. Because for this work to be realized, it must be owned by the members of the community it serves.

  • All of our models require some type of needs intake. Most extensive would be for anyone engaging in Model 1. After a needs-assessment which includes sessions with various groups of leadership and staff, as well as a look at foundational documents and archives from the school, we then build a tailored Scope of Work that builds on what is already in place in the school community. To move forward with any Scope of Work, we conduct deep individual work, along with ongoing reflection and action on current practices.

    Models 2 and 3 include pre- and post- conversations as well as reflection in between sessions to ensure that we are connecting to the needs of the community.

Multi-Year Coaching Collaboration

This is a deep collaboration between Roots ConnectED and the school/organization and decisions are made collectively towards shared goals and outcomes. The Scope of Work will always involve a level of leadership coaching, followed by a series of coaching meetings and professional development that are created to support and address the needs of the school in deepening equity practices institutionally, collectively, and personally
